いつの時代にも、誰にでも、心の中に「あの頃・・・」と言う言葉に大変なつかしい人生を振り返り、何かの温もりを想い、そして感じるのではないでしょうか。

昭和61年（1986年）10月、それまでの地下1階の店舗からこのビルの最上階（8階）に移転してきました。
カウンターに座ると、全面ガラス張りの真ん中に白亜の高知城が遠望できます。こんな借景はそうそうありません。
夜は、ライトアップでさぞや美しい眺めだろうと期待していたのですが、いろいろの問題から常にライトアップという訳にはいかないという県観光課のお話でした。
高知のシンボルである高知城が、暗闇に消え大変淋しく悲しんでいるように思え、私がライトアップしてあげようと美しく輝くお城を照らし出すことにしました。
少しでも観光のお役に立てばと、ささやかな想いを込めて県内外のお客様に楽しんで頂ければと願っています。
さあ、貴方ご自身の手でライトアップのスイッチを押して下さい。

When anyone in any era hears, "In those good old days,・・・" they may look back on their life and feel some warmth.
Switch on the light
In October 1986, I moved Akaikutsu from the basement location to the top (8th floor) of this building.
Sitting at the counter, customers get a distant view of white Kochi Castle through the picture window. Such a splendid borrowed landscape can rarely be obtained.
I expected to enjoy this beautiful scene of Kochi Castle illuminated at night, but disappointedly, I was told by the Tourism Promotion Division of Kochi Prefecture that the castle couldn’t always be lit up at night because of various problems.
In the darkness, Kochi Castle, a symbol of Kochi City, looked very lonely and sad. I thought I would light it up and decided to illuminate the beautiful castle.
I cordially hope this humble effort of mine will be of some help to attract tourists and those visitors from inside and outside of Kochi will enjoy the view.
Now, switch on and light up the castle.
